Pupils-in-Chambers

At MahWengKwai & Associates, our culture is to learn from one another. In addition to working with their masters, our pupils gain experience whilst working with experienced partners, lawyers, litigation clerks and admistrative and management staff in order to gain a holistic understanding of the legal profession and all that it entails. Depending on your area of interest, we will structure your learning and development with us by giving you a wide exposure of dispute resolution, corporate and commercial experience.

In addition to pupillage opportunities, the firm also has an attachment programme for individuals who are keen to get a taste of life in a law firm.

Our Mak Ka Wai (2012) shares his experience:

“Chambering at MahWengKwai & Associates is a great experience. Here, you are exposed to the different areas of practice engaged by this firm. Although my main focus is on Corporate and Conveyancing, I still assist the lawyers in litigation work to develop my interest in litigation. The tasks given may be hard at times, but at MahWengKwai & Associates, you are never left alone to handle it. At times it can be very intense, but we are all well rewarded. I believe that it will give me the opportunity to out perform and excel.

The firm also encourages the members to participate in pro-bono work. Recently, we have engaged ourselves in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with Kota Damansara Burmese Refugee Children’s School. Most importantly, this firm is a friendly place to train and practice and I can say that I have enjoyed my chambering period at MahWengKwai & Associates.”
